Part -3
Texel and it’s terrific essence of nature.
Texel Island is the biggest Dutch wadden Island and has about 30km of beautiful sandy beaches.

We made a day trip to the Island from Den Helder via ferry. Cars are allowed in the Island and can be transported through ferry.

We always wanted to visit an animal farm and so we rightly found one in texel Island. THE TEXEL SHEEP FARM. This place will give you an idea about sheep farming and farming life.

You will get to see more than 25 varieties of sheep and also can cuddle along with lambs. This literally felt like a therapy. If you’re lucky enough you might see a lamb being born.

You also get to see a dog show where a farmer uses his dogs in herding sheep to a certain spot without much hustle from right where he stands. Truly the dogs were amazingly trained and the show was impressive.

Apart from the sheep farm we enjoyed texel Island for it’s amazing food and view.

You can also visit Oudeschild. It’s a small town with a fishing harbour and plenty of food outlets. Food outlets have a wide range of sea food which are authentic and fresh. The town also has a Maritime museum and a windmill located along side. The museum contains objects found from the texel beaches. Over all the Oudeschild is a beautiful place to walk around.

Texel Island is known for it’s sand dunes, light house and it’s also is an UNESCO heritage site.

A day trip to texel is worth it. Especially during summer you would undoubtedly love the beaches and the view from the light house.

If you love nature and like spending time in the beach then please don’t miss out on this beautiful Island. It truly is worth your time.
